Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about FOCUS glasses and how they work.

The Glasses
What's the difference between FOCUS Dusk and FOCUS Eclipse?+

FOCUS Dusk has an orange lens that blocks up to 88% of blue light. Designed for everyday evening use — comfortable to wear while watching TV, gaming, or working late, with minimal colour distortion.

FOCUS Eclipse has a red lens that blocks up to 98% of blue and green light. Our maximum-protection lens, built for athletes, performers, and anyone serious about sleep quality.

Rule of thumb: Dusk for regular evenings, Eclipse when recovery is non-negotiable.

Will the lens tint change how my screen looks?+

Yes — that's the point. The orange (Dusk) or red (Eclipse) tint filters specific wavelengths rather than dimming everything. Most users adapt within 10–15 minutes and stop noticing the tint altogether.

Can I wear FOCUS glasses over my prescription lenses?+

FOCUS glasses are not designed to fit over prescription glasses. We recommend speaking with your optician about having FOCUS lens technology applied to your prescription frames.

Are the lenses prescription-ready?+

Not at this stage. FOCUS glasses are non-prescription only. We're working on prescription options — stay tuned.

How heavy are they? Will they be comfortable to wear for hours?+

The frame weighs just 22g. The titanium alloy construction keeps them ultra-light, and the medical-grade silicone nose pads distribute weight evenly. Most users report forgetting they're wearing them.

Science & Sleep
Is there actual science behind blue light blocking?+

Yes. Blue light (400–490nm) suppresses melatonin production via intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs). At night, blue light exposure delays melatonin onset and reduces sleep duration and quality.

FOCUS glasses filter those wavelengths before they reach your retina — giving your brain the signal to wind down even while your screen stays on.

How quickly will I notice a difference?+

Most people notice they feel sleepier at their usual bedtime within the first few nights. Deeper improvements (more REM, less waking) typically appear within 1–2 weeks of consistent use.

Can I use these instead of Night Mode / f.lux on my devices?+

Software night modes have limits — they can't fully control every display and don't work for TV or ambient lighting. FOCUS glasses work at the point of entry (your eyes) regardless of source. You can use both together for maximum effect.

Are they safe to use every night long-term?+

Yes. No known side effects from wearing blue light filtering glasses regularly. The lenses are UV420 certified and only filter — they do not emit or amplify any light.

How to Wear
When should I put on FOCUS Dusk?+

Put on Dusk 2–3 hours before your target bedtime. If you aim to sleep at 11pm, wear them from around 8–9pm onwards. Keep them on for all screen use during that window.

When should I put on FOCUS Eclipse?+

Put on Eclipse 1–2 hours before sleep. They block a broader spectrum (98% vs 88%) so they work faster. Ideal for nights when you're on screens late and want maximum protection in less time.

Can I wear them during the day?+

We don't recommend it. Blue light in the morning and afternoon keeps you alert and regulates your circadian rhythm. Blocking it during the day can make you groggy. FOCUS glasses are designed for evening use only.

Do I need to wear them while watching TV, or just for phones and computers?+

All screens emit blue light — TVs, phones, monitors, tablets. Wear FOCUS glasses for any screen use during your evening wind-down window. The source doesn't matter; the wavelengths do.

Care & Warranty
How do I clean my FOCUS glasses?+

Use the included microfiber cloth for daily cleaning. For stubborn smudges, dampen the cloth slightly with water. Avoid paper towels, clothing fabric, or chemical cleaners — these can scratch or degrade the lens coating.

How long will the lenses last?+

With proper care, the lens coating is designed to last 2+ years of daily use. Avoid leaving glasses in high heat (e.g. a car dashboard in summer) as this can degrade the coating faster.

What's included in the box?+

Every FOCUS order includes: the glasses, a premium magnetic case, and a microfiber cleaning cloth.

Is there a warranty?+

Yes. FOCUS glasses are covered by a 6-month manufacturing defect warranty. If there's a defect in materials or workmanship, contact us and we'll replace them. Normal wear and accidental damage are not covered.
